Andhra Pradesh skipper Hanuma Vihari showed great grit and determination in the Quarter Final of the Ranji Trophy against Madhya Pradesh. After suffering a wrist injury on the Day 1 of the game, the batter retired hurt and it wasn’t expected that he will bat as scans revealed that he broke his wrist.

However, with the team reeling at 353/9 on Day 2, Vihari came out to bat with a broken wrist. He batted with only one hand and took a left-handed stance. He also hit 2 fours as well. Vihari batted at the brutal pace of Avesh Khan and batted staggering well.

His gritty innings came to an end as he was dismissed for 27 runs. He was trapped in LBW by Saransh Jain as Andhra was bowled out 379. Notably, this was not the first time Vihari put his body on the line for the team.

Vihari showcased great courage during the Sydney Test in Australia on the 2020-21 tour when he batted with a torn hamstring and made 23* in 163 balls and along with R Ashwin (39* in 128 balls) helped India draw the Test
