​Royal Rumble is easily the most sought after WWE event after the Big Daddy, WrestleMania, and the 30 men/women Royal Rumble main event match guarantees the winner a world title match in the WrestleMania main event. But the question is who has won the most Royal Rumble matches?

The Royal Rumble match winners register their names in golden letters in the history books. And to win this behemoth of a match more than once is simply put…Legendary. So, here’s counting the top 5 superstars who’ve won the most Royal Rumble matches:

5. Hulk Hogan (1990 & 1991)

Hulk Hogan won the Royal Rumble two years in a row, in 1990 (entry #25) and 1991 (entry #24) and has the record of most eliminations per minute, eliminating 25 superstars in total in all his appearances. Just another feather in his cap, Brother!

4. John Cena (2008 & 2013)

Mr. Hustle Loyalty Respect John Cena adjusted the attitudes of the locker room and won the Royal Rumble match twice in 2008 (entry #30) and 2013 (entry #19) In the 2008 Royal Rumble match, Cena broke the record at that time for spending the least amount of time in the rumble match before winning it, beating Brock Lesnar’s 8:59 time by 31 seconds.

In the 2013 Royal Rumble, his opponents couldn’t see him eliminated as he never gave up and ended up winning the whole thing for the second time in his career.

3. Randy Orton (2009 & 2017)

Legend Killer Randy Orton cemented his legend in the history books when he won the Royal Rumble for the first time in 2009 (entry #8) albeit with the help of his Legacy compatriots Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. He eventually eliminated Triple H, who’s a two time Royal Rumble winner himself.

He won the Rumble again in 2017 (entry #23) by eliminating the Head of the table Roman Reigns finally, which is a feat in itself. And even after all these years, the Viper is still going strong, having a lot of fun with his new bro Riddle and winning titles along the way.

2. Brock Lesnar (2003 & 2022)

The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar took everyone to the Suplex City in 2003 (entry #29) and finally eliminated the Phenom Undertaker to win the whole thing, becoming the youngest Rumble winner at 25 years of age. And later went on to win the WWE championship from Kurt Angle at WrestleMania in an iconic match.

His second win happened earlier this year itself when he won the Rumble in 2022 (entry #30) making him the latest Rumble winner and also setting the record for the minimum time spent by a winner at 2 minutes 30 seconds. The Country boy is still very active and recently competed in a world title match against Roman Reigns at Summerslam.

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin (1997, 1998 & 2001)

Texas Rattle Snake Stone Cold Steve Austin is the only Superstar in the history of the business to have won the Rumble 3 times. Making him King of the Rumble. In 1997 (entry #5) he tied the record of 10 eliminations with Hulk Hogan at the time.

He repeated the feat again the following year in 1998 (entry #24) finally eliminating the Great One The Rock after a sweet stone cold stunner. His last Rumble win happened in 2001 (entry #27) when he eliminated a monstrous and resilient Kane after a lot of effort for a third win. A record that’s yet to be broken. Now we can sure say a Hell Yeah to that!
