WrestleMania is always one of the grandest events of all time and no matter who is being a part of it or who isn’t, at the end of the day, it is the blockbuster storylines, the return of the superstars and most importantly the icons coming together for that one helluva night that sets the tone of the grandest wrestling events of all time.

Out of all the big events that define WrestleMania, one of the biggest aspects of the night is the quality of matches that are being dished out. Talking about matches, here are the top five matches that WrestleMania ever had in its history. Once again, the choices may vary but then it has been ranked as per popularity amongst the WWE Universe.

#5 Triple H vs The Undertaker – WrestleMania 28

It was probably one of the biggest wrestling matches ever fought but then again with time, a few more come up in the ranks. This bout, however, marked the end of an era as Triple H stood talk in the ring with Undertaker, going head on to finish the business that was started by his best friend Shawn Michaels a year ago. Eventually the bout was won by Under taker and the three legends left shoulder to shoulder, creating a frame for a lifetime.

#4 The Hardy Boyz vs the Dudley Boyz vs Edge and Christian

Probably one of the greatest ladder matches of all time where the three tag teams reignited the rivalry after an year and after a thumping WrestleMania in 2000, the audience was once again back in the hunt for another cracking battle between the tag-team partners. With the inclusion of Rhyno, Spike Dudley and Lita, the storytelling compounded itself and what followed suit was a cracker of the highest order.

#3 Ricky the Dragon Steamboat vs Randy Machoman Savage

Premised on some intense storytelling, Randy Savage used the ring-bell to crush Ricky’s throat. Seeking vengeance, Ricky came forth and took Randy Savage right by the scruff of his neck literally and the two went on forever. There were so many falls in the game that the audience thought that there would be no ending to the same. However, the game did end, also putting up one of the finest wrestling matches of all time.

#2 Chris Benoit vs Shawn Michaels vs Triple H

In another fine triple threat encounter, the three heavyweights went for each other’s jugular and after an intense exchange of heavy haymakers, it was the Rabid Wolverine who secured the bragging rights of the match as he put Triple H in a crippler crossface. Despite Shawn Michaels and the Game putting up a a battle to savour, the late star was absolutely relentless and eventually bagged the belt for the World Heavyweight Championship.

#1 Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania 25

This match almost had no ending as no matter what the two did in the ring, both of them would snap out of each other’s grip until that last moment where all three were knocked out. Eventually Chris would roll himself back in the ring and then go head to head with Triple H. Breaking free from the clutches of the Game as he wanted to enforce the Pedigree, Benoit knocked him over and caught him in his submission manuever.
