Zak Crawley has been making the most of his opportunity in the ongoing first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. He took England off the flyer and has put on the show for ages with the bat.
After England opted to bat first, Crawley asserted his authority right from the first over and smashed 14 runs against Naseem Shah. After that he didn’t look back and activated the T20 mode, smashing boundaries for fun.
Crawley completed his fifty off just 38 balls and helped England score 174 runs in the first session. After the lunch break, he continued his carnage on the Pakistan bowling lineup and made them look ordinary.
The right-hander completed his century in just 86 balls and silenced all the critics. Notably, he has a staggering record against Pakistan as in three innings he has scored 425* runs at an average of 212.5.
Crawley’s 86-ball hundred against Pakistan is the fastest by an English opener in Test. He surpassed Graham Gooch, who scored a hundred in 96 balls against India in 1990.
