“Sai Kishore Bowled Well”- MS Dhoni Heaps Praise On Tamil Nadu Youngster Who Did Well Against Chennai After Warming Benches At CSK

The 62nd match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is in the history books. The Gujarat Titans registered a comfortable seven-wicket win over the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision did not work in his team’s favor though as CSK managed only 133 runs in their 20 overs. Sai Kishore was impressive for the Gujarat Titans.

Many fans would know that Kishore plays domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu and was a part of the Chennai Super Kings squad that won the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League last year. However, CSK never gave him a game because of Ravindra Jadeja’s presence and always kept him on the benches.

Gujarat Titans gave a chance to the youngster, and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. At the Wankhede Stadium, the left-arm spin bowler bowled a tight spell of 1/31 against the Chennai Super Kings. While Mohammed Shami had better figures than Kishore for the Gujarat Titans, CSK captain MS Dhoni particularly named Kishore at the post-match presentation and praised him.

MS Dhoni may have a good idea about the talent possessed by Sai Kishore

It is a well-known fact that MS Dhoni is the chief decision-maker at the Chennai Super Kings, and he knows the players of his team well. Sai Kishore spent multiple seasons with CSK but was unlucky not to get a match.

After doing well against CSK, he received praise from his former captain as Dhoni said after the game:

“Sai bowled well. We could have pushed Shivam up the order, but that would have defeated the purpose of having Jaggi on the side. Had it been earlier in the tournament, it would have been a tactical move to have Shivam in.”
