In fact, the captain and the vice-captain (Chundangapoyil Rizwan and Vriitya Aravind) also hail from India. While Chirag Suri is a well-known name, the likes of Vikramjit Singh and Simi Singh are also quite popular. Amongst the top-flight teams, Ish Sodhi is the only representative from this list. The New Zealand spinner will play a key role for his team at the event.

Having contributed so many cricketers to other nations, it is natural that India is one of the strongest teams in the event. However, the team is having a few issues of its own.

Performance in big events has been disappointing in recent years. On top of this, the Indian Team will miss the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Both were critical to India’s chances and the men in blue will have a tough time replacing them with suitable resources in the squad.
