As per reports, Mumbai Indians is set to release Kieron Pollard to the IPL 2023 Auctions. The West Indian all-rounder, who retired from international cricket a few months, had a disappointing outing last season. Moreover, MI now has the likes of Tim David and Tristan Stubbs, who can operate in the lower middle-order role. Although Pollard’s form is not great, his experience could still land him an IPL contract if he is a part of the auctions. Here, we take a look at three teams that can target Kieron Pollard in the upcoming IPL 2023 Mini Auctions in December.
1) Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings might need reinforcement in the lower middle order. Last year, the franchise was not able to finish games properly. Hence, a player like Pollard would add balance to the franchise.
With Pollard in the mix and Mayank likely to be released, PBKS can have Liam Livingstone play further up the order. Jitesh Sharma, who did well with his cameos last season, can be a good partner for Pollard.
2) Gujarat Titans
Although Gujarat Titans won IPL 2022, they will still have a few loopholes to fix. One could be the problem of balance, an aspect that sometimes puts pressure on Hardik Pandya to complete all his four overs.
Moreover, with David Miller coming back to form, another big hitter after him in the XI will be a massive signing. It is not sure if Rahul Tewatia would arrive with the same form and hence, the franchise can invest in someone like Pollard.

3) Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH is one of the teams that can target Kieron Pollard in the upcoming IPL 2023 Mini Auctions in December. If Kane Williamson leaves SRH, Rahul Tripathi can open the innings and the likes of Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran can play at their natural positions.
This combination will leave the franchise wanting for some experience in the lower middle order. With Kane not in the squad, obviously, the team will also have to search for a new skipper. Kieron Pollard can fix all these problems and hence, SRH can target him.
