Asia Cup 2022 will start in UAE on August 27th. India’s first encounter will be against Pakistan on August 28th. Both teams will meet for the first time after the 2021 T20 World Cup. There is a possibility of India meeting their neighbors two more times in the competition. It is a firm challenge for the Indians and they will look to put their best foot forward. On that note, here, we predict India’s strongest playing XI for the Asia Cup India Squad 2022.
India squad for Asia Cup 2022: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and =Avesh Khan.
Openers for Asia Cup India Squad 2022: Rohit Sharma (C) and KL Rahul
In the 2021 T20 World Cup, India’s preferred opening combination was this duo of Rohit and Rahul. They haven’t played together a lot since then. Nevertheless, they are still two of the best Indian openers in the T20 format. Therefore, they are likely to continue in this department.
India’s approach has changed in recent months. They are no more conservative and it needs to be seen how this combination will work in the new strategy.

Middle-Order: Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (WK) and Suryakumar Yadav
There are a lot of talks on India’s middle order going forward. However, all the recent signs hint that it is likely to be a similar middle order that featured in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Virat Kohli will be backed to do well at No.3 and for a player of his stature, he deserves that backing. Both Pant and SKY have opened the batting in recent days. However, they will likely be a part of the middle order. This means that Dinesh Karthik may not get a chance despite his recent good form.
All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja
Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are the all-rounders in the likely strongest playing XI for India at the Asia Cup India Squad 2022. Hardik is in cracking touch and will be one of India’s most important cricketers. He will add terrific balance to the squad.
Ravindra Jadeja, at the moment, has his spot cemented. However, if he does not deliver consistently, the likes of R Ashwin could come into the picture,
Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh
The pace attack will be led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His role will be important in the absence of Bumrah. He will be joined by Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan. Considering the variety he adds, the Punjab cricketer will be extremely critical to Team India’s plans.
The likes of R Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi are also in the squad. However, Yuzvendra Chahal will be the preferred spin option for the squad.
