Why is Abdul Samad not playing for SRH today?

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have continued to make multiple changes to their playing XI in IPL 2021. The Orange Army made three changes to their lineup today after suffering a defeat at the hands of the Mumbai Indians. Unfortunately, Abdul Samad missed out on a place in the playing XI for the match against the Punjab Kings

David Warner informed at the toss that Samad picked up a hamstring injury, which was why experienced all-rounder Kedar Jadhav replaced him in the playing XI. Here’s what Warner had to say at the toss:

“Everyone in this franchise are positive – need to learn from the mistakes, those little things in the game. Kane Williamson is in, he replaces Mujeeb. Samad is out with a hamstring pull, Kedar replaces him, Manish misses out as well, replaced by Siddarth Kaul.”

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have finally added Kane Williamson to their playing XI for this match. Williamson will bat in Manish Pandey’s position now. Siddarth Kaul has replaced Mujeeb ur Rahman in the playing combination.

Abdul Samad batted in the middle order, and in the same way, Kedar Jadhav will bat in middle order for SRH today. The only difference will be that the Sunrisers will not have an extra spinner against Punjab. They have dropped leg-spinner Mujeeb for right-arm fast bowler Siddarth Kaul.

Abdul Samad had done well in IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad

Although Abdul Samad has not played much cricket in the IPL, he had impressed the fans a lot in the limited opportunities that he received. Samad hit sixes against some of the world’s best fast bowlers.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad will definitely miss him in today’s game against the Punjab Kings. They will expect that Abdul Samad recovers to full fitness soon. In his absence, Kedar Jadhav has got an opportunity to prove his talent. It will be interesting to see how he performs for the team.
