3 popular players who will be making their debut in IPL 2023

Every season, we witness at least one or two popular cricketers who will make their debut in IPL. In the upcoming campaign, too, we will have some popular names playing their first-ever game in the competition. On that note, here, we take a look at three popular players who will be making their debut in IPL 2023.

1) Joe Root – Rajasthan Royals

Joe Root was one of the last-minute buys by RR at IPL 2023 Auctions. The player has been in top form in Tests and in the shorter formats, as well he can be expected to do well.

Root initially went unsold but RR got him onboard while filling their overseas slots. Of course, Root does not start in the playing XI and will be one of the backups for the likes of Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer. The former English skipper is a good player of spin and might even fancy a chance at venues such as the Chepauk.

2) Cameron Green – Mumbai Indians

Cameron Green is one of the popular players who will be making their debut in IPL 2023. One of the high-profile overseas names in the IPL 2023 Auctions was Cameron Green. He justified the reputation by becoming the costliest purchase ever for Mumbai Indians.

The all-rounder is likely to play at No.3 for MI. With his attacking game, that would be the best position for him, considering the batting combination for MI. Green will also have to add value to the bowling department.

3) Harry Brook – Sunrisers Hyderabad

Harry Brook was also a big purchase at the auctions. SRH went past INR 10 Cr to get the in-form English cricketer. Along with Aiden Markram, he would be the mainstay in the middle-order for SRH.

It is required that Brook does well for SRH. The team is dependent on him to hold the middle-order with the likes of Heinrich Klaasen expected to take on the bowling. Therefore, Brook’s form is vital for SRH’s chances.
