3 players who have won the most Man of the Match Awards for India in T20Is so far

Impact performances are crucial to win a T20 encounter. Yes, the decision of selecting the Man of the Match still relies on most runs or most wickets but that is changing slowly. Nevertheless, if a player is an MoM, he would have definitely done well in that game. If a player has won this award multiple times, he is surely an important cricketer for the nation. On that note, here, we take a look at three players who have won the most Man of the Match Awards for India in T20Is so far.

1) Virat Kohli – 15 (115 games)*

Of course, it is Virat Kohli who stands at the top of this list. Not just for India, even across the format, it is the former Indian skipper who leads the group. Close behind him is Mohammad Nabi, who has claimed 13 awards.

Virat Kohli has been a part of many wins for India and in many of them, he has had a direct impact. Most recently, he won the award in the first game of the 2022 T20 World Cup against Pakistan. The Indian fans will hope that Virat adds to this tally in 2023.

2) Rohit Sharma – 12 (148 games)*

Rohit Sharma is one of the players who have won the most Man of the Match Awards for India in T20Is so far. The current Indian skipper is third on the overall list and second on this list.

Although he took some time to get into the groove, after he found his touch, it was hard to stop Rohit. That said, in recent months, he has been disappointing. There are even talks that India might move on from Rohit in T20Is.

3) Suryakumar Yadav – 10 (45 games)*

While the other cricketers took more than 100 games to get into double digits, Suryakumar Yadav has done the unthinkable by doing it even without playing 50 encounters.

Essentially, every fifth game, SKY is winning the Player of the Match award for India. This is an insane feat and that shows the impact he has had since his debut. Considering his current form, it would just be a matter of time before he overtakes Virat Kohli on this list.
