Every team in the IPL has suffered injury scare.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 so far has seen an enthralling contest between bat and ball. But the league so far has been marred by many injuries as well. While many teams have announced replacement players, a few have backed their players and are hopeful that they will return to action soon in the league.

2 Replacement players that might get limited opportunity to play in IPL 2023

Despite the injuries, teams have pretty balanced squads as young Indian guns have stepped up and taken the responsibilities, which has eased the burden for the franchises. In this piece, we will take a look at 2 Replacement players that might get limited opportunity to play in IPL 2023.

Jason Roy

Jason Roy was roped in by the Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Shakib Al Hasan, who pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons. The English opener soon will join the team but it is unlikely that he will get a chance in the team. The reason behind this is KKR have quite a few openers in their armoury who are going through the fine form. Therefore it’ll be difficult for Roy to get a spot on the team right away. The English batter has a reputation for going hard at the new ball but, unfortunately, he might have to warm the bench for games.

Akash Singh

Akash Singh was roped in by the Chennai Super Kings as a replacement for Mukesh Choudhary. However, it is unlikely that he will get any games due to the power-packed lineup of the CSK. The young bowlers in Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Tushar Deshpande have already proved their worth in the few games they have played for the team. The duo has been decent and they will likely get the longer rope in the team, which makes the chances of Akash Singh to debut in the team a little less.
