2 players doing well in IPL recently but might struggle to get a chance in Indian Team

With the introduction of two new teams, there are more talented Indian performers coming through. However, the Indian Team only has eleven spots and hence, a lot of them would miss out despite doing well in the IPL. There are quite a few examples of the same at the moment. On that note, here, we take a look at two players doing well in IPL recently but might struggle to get a chance in Indian Team.

1) Shivam Dube

The Chennai Super Kings batter has been a surprise so far in IPL. While he showed glimpses of his capabilities in IPL 2022, he has truly come his own in IPL 2023. He has been CSK’s main weapon in the middle overs, thanks to his excellent six-hitting ability.

Dube has been brutal against the spinners in IPL 2023. While he has been doing well, he actually happens to be a player whom India has tried in the past. He is doing well now but he has some weaknesses such as his foot movement. While he is doing well at No.4 and No.5, in the Indian Team, these roles demand a player with more stability. With respect to age, as well, Dube might just not be an option right now, considering his other weaknesses.

2) Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia is one of the players doing well in IPL recently but might struggle to get a chance in Indian Team. Tewatia has been finishing games consistently in the last two seasons. However, Indian Team needs players who need to be more well-rounded.

With the ball, Tewatia has not done enough. For a player who will bat at No.7, bowling is required and Tewatia does not offer promise here. In terms of fitness, as well, he is not the greatest candidate and hence, he could struggle to land a spot in the Indian squad.
