2 players Delhi Capitals should not have released before IPL 2023 Auctions

In the hindsight, it is easy to make a comment but looking at the composition of the Delhi Capitals squad, they surely could have made a better decision a few months ago. The unavailability of Rishabh Pant could have never been expected. However, the franchise could have focussed on having better backups. A few of their IPL 2022 cricketers could have helped them now. On that note, here, we take a look at two players Delhi Capitals should not have released before IPL 2023 Auctions.

1) KS Bharat

KS Bharat was surplus to requirement in IPL 2022. He, anyways, did not get many chances to show his skillset. Nevertheless, in the current DC squad, the option of KS Bharat would have been excellent for the management.

Currently, the team is struggling to replace Rishabh Pant. Sarfaraz Khan was initially tried out and currently, it is Abishek Porel. However, both have not been great with the bat. At No.3, Bharat would have been an ideal fit for the franchise. While he brings in recent IPL experience, he is also a top option behind the stumps. Hence, DC could have considered this before releasing him. At Gujarat Titans, too, Bharat is yet to get a game till now.

2) Tim Seifert

Tim Seifert is one of the players Delhi Capitals should not have released before IPL 2023 Auctions. The Kiwi cricketer had a few good games but later lost his form. Hence, he was dropped from the setup. That said, the current overseas batters of DC are also not doing great.

Having already explored him in the playing XI, Seifert could have been an option for DC in the current context. He would have also kept wickets for the team. Nevertheless, Phil Salt was a wise investment but Dehli Capitals are yet to make use of the player.
