“Really Surprised To See MI Not Showing Faith In Him”- Wasim Jaffer Wants Mumbai To Give Tim David More Chances

Former Indian cricket team opener Wasim Jaffer was surprised to see Tim David not getting opportunities to play for the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. David is one of the top T20 batters in the world right now. He has made a name for himself with his impressive batting performances in other T20 leagues.

Because of his excellent performances in T20 cricket, the Mumbai Indians spent INR 8.25 crore to acquire his services at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Tim David has the potential, but he could not impress much in the first two matches of the Mumbai Indians team in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.

David scored 12 runs on his Mumbai Indians debut against the Delhi Capitals. In the next match against Rajasthan Royals he was trapped in front of his stumps by Yuzvendra Chahal on the third ball of his innings.

Soon after, Mumbai Indians decided to bench him and included Dewald Brevis in his place. After the defeat against the Kolkata Knight Riders, MI excluded both Tymal Mills and Daniel Sams. They played with only two foreign players.

Mills was recalled today for the battle against the Punjab Kings, but Tim David continues to be benched.

Wasim Jaffer gave his opinion on Mumbai Indians not giving chances to Tim David

After looking at the Mumbai Indians playing XI for their match against the Punjab Kings, Wasim Jaffer wrote on Twitter:

“When you’ve bought someone for 8.25cr, surely he’s good enough to play more than a couple of games. Really surprised to see MI not showing faith in Tim David.”

Most of the fans have agreed with Jaffer as the tweet has received over 6,000 likes so far. It will be interesting to see if Tim David gets another chance to don the MI jersey this season.
