Harry Brook became the first centurion of IPL 2023. The English youngster was in top form as he tore apart the KKR bowling attack, especially the pacers. Harry Brook scores the first century of IPL 2023
The first few games of IPL 2023 did not go in the desired way for Brook. He struggled to put runs in the middle-order and later, the management made the move to open the innings with the cricketer. Even that did not pay off a couple of times. However, against KKR, Brook erased all the doubts with a stunning inning.
From the first over itself, Brook made his intentions clear. He took on Umesh Yadav for a few boundaries and later, scored some runs against him once more in the bowler’s second over. Against the spinners, though, Brook had his struggles. The likes of Sunil Narine and Varun CV were able to contain him. However, against Lockie Ferguson, Brook brought his pace game to the fore and scored heavily against the Kiwi. Overall, it was a fine knock by the youngster. This confidence will help him and SRH in this tournament. Hence, in this context, this is an important game for him.
