Great Western Air Ambulance stops the play in Bristol

As mentioned ahead, the Division 2 County Championship match between Gloucestershire and Durham started earlier today in Bristol. Durham won the toss and elected to bat. However, in the opening over of the contest, the umpires had to stop the player because of the emergency landing of the Great Western Air Ambulance. It is a charity organization and they landed on the ground for a critical incident that happened nearby.

According to the reports, the patient was standing outside the stadium. Since the officials allowed the helicopter to land on the ground, they could attend the patient quicker. After 20 minutes, the helicopter departed and once again the match got underway in Bristol. Durham Cricket posted a video of the same to inform their fans about the development.

“A Great Western Air Ambulance has landed on the outfield due to a critical incident nearby. Play will commence as soon as possible,” Durham Cricket’s tweet reads.
