The IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions have completed in Bengaluru on Sunday. The auctions went in fairly expected lines but some well-known players did not find takers at the bidding event. Suresh Raina is one player who went unsold at the event. The highest run-getter for CSK so far, it was difficult for Suresh Raina’s fans to see him going unsold. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted after Suresh Raina goes unsold in IPL 2022 Auction that concluded recently.

Suresh Raina goes unsold in IPL 2022 Auction

In 205 games, Raina scored 5528 runs at an average of 32.52 and a strike rate of 136. In the first decade or so of the tournament, Raina was the best batsman in the league. He was at No.1 in the list of highest run-getters for a very long time. Raina was also a terrific fielder and won many games for CSK in his career. However, after he got dropped from Team India, Raina’s form hit a roadblock. He has not been able to do well consistently and was also dropped in IPL 2021.

In the auctions, Suresh Raina placed himself in the INR 2 Cr bracket. He went unsold in the first round and did not come back in the accelerated rounds. Hence, he will not play IPL 2022, although he might still have a chance as a replacement player. That said, with a high base price, even that is ruled out for the moment.
