Reigning WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley is often compared to late wrestler Chyna. Rhea herself has recognized the comparisons, and she even dresses up in Chyna’s style to pay tribute to the female star. However, a former WWE employee thinks the company must never Rhea to Chyna now.
Speaking on The Brand, former WWE head writer Vince Russo opined that the company made a massive mistake on last week’s RAW episode. During the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match between The Judgment Day and the Creed Brothers, Ivy Nile lifted Rhea Ripley on her shoulders, and Mami made a funny face.
Russo suggested that a Superstar so tiny as Ivy Nile should never be able to lift Rhea even in kayfabe. Here’s what the former WWE writer said:
“That sh*t at the end with Rhea Ripley on Ivy’s shoulders, bro, don’t ever insult Chyna ever again. Ever again. When I watch that at the end where this five foot nothing girl got this monster on her shoulders and the monster is doing [imitating a terrified Ripley], don’t ever ever compare Rhea Ripley to Chyna again because she looked like an absolute idiot and an absolute fool.”
Vince Russo says comparing Joanie Laurer (Chyna) to Rhea Ripley is an insult to her
Speaking further on the same show, Vince Russo pointed out that Rhea Ripley’s two hands were free, and yet she made a funny face and got lifted by Ivy Nile. He felt that if any fan or a WWE official compared Rhea with Chyna (real name Joanie Laurer) again, it would be an insult to the legend.
Rhea Ripley is all set to compete in a Women’s World Championship match on the Day 1 special edition of RAW. She will put her title on the line against The Creed Brothers’ ally Ivy Nile.
