Darren Sammy reveals why Dale Steyn or AB de Villiers rated PSL as one of the toughest leagues in the world

The eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League will go all guns blazing from today onwards. The professional T20 league from Pakistan has seen seven editions so far since its inception in 2016.

Lahore Qalandars were the champions of the previous edition of the Pakistan Super League. On the other end of the spectrum, Islamabad United have won as many as 2 titles, making it the most successful team in PSL history.

The likes of Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans won a title apiece. It will be quite interesting to see which team will win the title in the eighth edition of the PSL.

While speaking to PCB Digital, Peshawar Zalmi’s head coach, Darren Sammy is of the opinion that his team might as well spring in with a big surprise in the eighth edition of the tournament.

He further added that Peshawar Zalmi’s future is in safe hands now considering the fact that the young players are showing incredible fighting spirit and are destined for greatness as time progresses.

Meanwhile, the former West Indies’ international Darren Sammy echoed that either Dale Steyn or AB de Villiers rated Pakistan Super League as one of the toughest leagues in the world.

It is due to the fact that there are plenty of quality local bowlers in Pakistan. Having said that there are plenty of talented bowling prospects, it is no doubt that Pakistan will be getting very good bowlers in the future.

Darren Sammy also went on to recall the perfect example by naming Hasan Ali who was the emerging player for Peshawar Zalmi. After a couple of years, he went on to become the number-one ICC ODI bowler in the world.
