Former Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Dale Steyn has made a bold prediction about the future of the current Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli in the Indian Premier League. Many fans would know by now that Kohli has made his intentions clear to step down as the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team once the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League ends.
Dale Steyn appeared on a chat show of ESPNCricinfo recently, where he gave his opinions on the possible reason why Kohli could have made the decision to step down as the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL franchise. The former South African cricket team pace bowler believed that Kohli could have made the call so that people do not question him if he fails to score big in his first two or three games of the United Arab Emirates leg.
We’ve seen Chris Gayle leave the team. We have seen David Beckham leave Manchester United: Dale Steyn
In the same video that the Royal Challengers Bangalore released a few days back, Virat Kohli assured his fans that although he was stepping down as the captain of the team, he would continue to don the RCB jersey in the coming IPL seasons as well. However, Dale Steyn feels there is a possibility that Virat would leave RCB and probably Delhi Capitals can welcome him after that:
“It doesn’t matter how good a player you are, you could see yourself walking. We’ve seen Chris Gayle leave the team. We have seen David Beckham leave Manchester United after playing for an entire lifespan for them. You never really know; you have these famous people playing for their clubs for a long time and who knows. Virat is originally from Delhi and for all we know, they (Delhi Capitals) could say ‘come finish with us,” said Steyn.
It is Virat Kohli vs. MS Dhoni in IPL 2021
Kohli is leading RCB in IPL 2021 right now. The team got off to a losing start in the United Arab Emirates leg against the Kolkata Knight Riders team.
Next up for the Royal Challengers are MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. This blockbuster encounter is set to happen at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on September 24. It will be exciting to see which team emerges victorious.
