CSK’s likely playing XI for IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings had a very good outing at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. The franchise welcomed some of their former players and also constructed a squad that will do well for them at the Chepauk. On that note, here, we take a look at CSK’s likely playing XI for IPL 2025.

Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad (C) and Devon Conway

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway will return as openers for the side. However, for Conway, the rope will be very short if he is out of form. Rachin Ravindra is a talented cricketer and CSK could be looking at the future with the Kiwi at the top.

Middle-Order: Rahul Tripathi and MS Dhoni (WK)

No.3 was an issue for CSK in the last few seasons. They seem to have covered that with the signing of Rahul Tripathi. The likes of Deepak Hooda could also be an option here. MS Dhoni, of course, will keep the wickets for the side.

All-Rounders: Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and Sam Curran

CSK always banks on all-rounders and this time, they have a strong group to rely on. Dube and Jaddu will remain from the previous side and Ashwin and Sam Curran will support them now. Sam Curran will be a floater in the batting department while Ashwin will lead the spin attack.

Bowlers: Matheesha Pathirana, Khaleel Ahmed and Noor Ahmed

CSK seems to have got a perfect choice in Noor Ahmed as a spin option for the home venue. He adds so much value as a wrist spinner. Khaleel Ahmed will take the new ball and he usually comes up with a  few wickets in the initial phase.

Impact Player: Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda or Anshul Kamboj

CSK’s bench is extremely strong. Vijay Shankar is in good form and could be a choice as an Impact Player. Anshul Kamboj can be the Impact Player if the side is bowling second.
