“Well Deserved” – Twitter reacts as Hardik Pandya gets promoted from Grade C to Grade A in the central contract

Hardik Pandya was recently seen in action during the three-match ODI series against the Australian cricket team. When Rohit Sharma skipped the first ODI owing to family commitments, it was Hardik Pandya who led the team.

Under his captaincy, India churned out a five-wicket win over the Aussies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Meanwhile, Team India went on to lose the ODI series by 2-1, in what was a rather disappointing ending just before the IPL 2023 season.

Hardik Pandya will be next seen in action for the upcoming season of the IPL. The Gujarat Titans captain can take pride in the fact that he led the Ahmedabad-based franchise to maiden IPL glory in the debut season.

Meanwhile, in the latest development, Hardik Pandya has been promoted from Grade C to Grade A in the central contract, which is indeed a huge step forward in his international cricket career.

In the initial years of his career, Hardik Pandya wasn’t that consistent as an all-rounder. However, he picked up the tricks and trades of the game and got better over time. Today, he is serving as the vice-captain in ODIs.

Since Rohit Sharma is currently not part of the grand scheme of things in the T20 setup, the BCCI made Hardik Pandya the T20I captain. Having played 74 ODIs, 87 T20Is and 11 Tests in his career, Hardik Pandya scored 1584, 1271 runs and 532 runs in the respective formats.

He scored one century and four fifties in Tests, nine half-centuries in ODIs and three fifties in T20Is. As far as bowling performances are concerned, he took 17 wickets in Tests, 72 wickets in ODIs and 69 wickets in T20Is.
