3 former players whom Mumbai Indians could target in IPL 2024 Auctions

Mumbai Indians have shown intent in the IPL 2024 Trade Window. Exceeding all expectations, they signed Hardik Pandya from the Gujarat Titans. Now, the team’s focus will be on building the bowling attack. They could target some of their old players in this regard. Here, we take a look at the list of three former players whom Mumbai Indians could target in IPL 2024 Auctions.

1) Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood was once a part of the Mumbai Indians setup. However, the Australian pacer did not get a lot of chances to show his skills.

Having been released by RCB, he would be in demand at the auctions. As the new-ball pair for Bumrah, he would be very ideal. His consistency and accuracy would make him more dangerous, especially with Bumrah bowling in tandem.

2) Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins is one of the former players whom Mumbai Indians could target in IPL 2024 Auctions. In IPL 2018, MI signed Cummins. However, there was a back injury and just a few days before the tournament, Cummins was ruled out.

That said, MI could go back for him again. He is a World Cup winner and has shown his skills bowling in the middle overs. Cummins also provides good value with the bat. This can be used by Mumbai Indians because their batting depth was a problem last season.

3) Shreyas Gopal

Shreyas Gopal once played for Mumbai Indians. He was a consistent part of a few games. Shreyas was mostly used with the ball, although he did get some chances with the bat.

Piyush Chawla will lead the spin attack for MI in IPL 2024. The franchise needs to plan for backups and they can go for Shreyas. He is a traditional leg-spinner and also offers great value with the bat. With the impact player rule, a cricketer like Shreyas can be useful.
