Watch: MS Dhoni replicates John Cena’s ‘You can’t see me’ gesture against LSG

MS Dhoni has been leading the CSK brigade gloriously in IPL 2023

Chennai Super Kings was up against the Lucknow Super Giants yesterday in a rain-dampened encounter. During the game, Sri Lankan bowler, Maheesh Theekshana made a loud appeal and with MS Dhoni being behind the stumps made the iconic gesture of John Cena where he waved his hand in front of his face.

CSK captain, MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first. LSG had their own woes as the team crumbled like a house of cards in front of the Chennai Super Kings bowling unit. Ayush Badoni was the lead act who played an unbeaten knock of 59 from just 33 balls.

Nicholas Pooran provided decent support to the hard-fighting Indian youngster but the partnership wasn’t decent enough. Kyle Mayers did get a start on a track where the ball kept on turning but at the end of it all, he could only add 14 runs from 17 balls.

Here is how MS Dhoni emulated John Cena

Moeen Ali amassed a two fer against the Giants while Matheesha Pathirana bagged a couple of wickets too as the two bowlers led the charge. Maheesh Theekshana also chimed in with a couple of wickets too and as the trio ensured that the Giants could never get a move on.

It was in the sixth over for Maheesh Theekshana when he smashed Manan Vohra onto the pads and went up in instant appeal. Umpire Anil Choudhary instantly said not out. Maheesh Theekshana turned to Dhoni to try and challenge the decision. But MS Dhoni was swift to let Theeshana know that there was some problem in his vision.

The gesture reminded everyone about one of the most remarkable wrestling stars that the arcade has ever seen, Johncena. Cena’s “You can’t see me” action would be recognized by everyone who never made it to hallowed steps of wrestling either.
