Twitter user shares an amazing coincidence between the RCB vs PBKS game in 2022 and the RCB vs CSK match in 2012

The third game of IPL 2022 has ended with the Punjab Kings defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets. It was a stunning encounter with the pendulum swinging either way at various junctures. Meanwhile, a Twitter user has come up with a coincidence between the recent game and another RCB match that happened a decade ago. In this article, we take a look at an amazing coincidence between the RCB vs PBKS game in 2022 and the RCB vs CSK match in 2012.

An amazing coincidence between the RCB vs PBKS game in 2022 and another RCB game 10 years ago

On Sunday, at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium in Mumbai, RCB scored 205 in the first innings. Leading the squad, Faf du Plessis was brilliant as he made 88 runs in 57 deliveries for the Bengaluru-based outfit. Chasing a stiff target, Punjab Kings never looked out of the game. Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal had a 71-run opening partnership and the likes of Bhanuka Rajapaksa provided an impactful cameo. Although in the end, it looked like RCB will win the match, Odean Smith scored 25 runs in 8 balls to seal the game for his side.

Incidentally, 10 years ago, RCB had scored 205 runs in a game and the end result was the same as the recent match. Here is a look at more about the coincidence:

RCB needs to get its combination right from the next game

RCB did seem to get its combination right at the start. However, players such as Wanindu Hasaranga and Mohammed Siraj looked rusty and hence, RCB was not able to close the game in the second innings. Akash Deep also could not leave an impression in his debut game.

It will take a few more days before Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell join the squad. Before that, RCB must get its combination right and the established players must step up. The team next faces Kolkata Knight Riders on 30th March.
