Twitter Reacts To Reports That RCB Might Bid 12cr For Jason Holder And 8cr For Rayudu

The IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions is set to happen on February 12th and 13th in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, there are plenty of reports in the media about the players’ franchises can target. Recently, a report hinted that Royal Challengers Bangalore could go all out for Jason Holder and Ambati Rayudu. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to reports that RCB might bid 12cr for Jason Holder and 8cr for Ambati Rayudu.

As per reports, RCB might bid 12cr for Jason Holder

A couple of weeks ago, Aakash Chopra opined that Jason Holder could be the best captaincy option for RCB. Since then, there have been multiple reports that RCB are actually planning to bid for the West Indian all-rounder. It is said that RCB has allocated INR 12 cr for signing the player. There are also articles suggesting that the Bengaluru-based outfit has kept aside INR 8 cr for Ambati Rayudu.

Although the auction dynamics could prompt unexpected happenings in the bidding room, a sum of 8 cr seems too high for an ageing player like Rayudu. Even for Jason Holder, who is yet to prove himself completely in the IPL, a bid of INR 12 cr seems a little too much.

Riyan Parag, who is a big fan of Virat Kohli, is also said to be on the list of players shortlisted by RCB. Parag did not have a great season in 2021 but he is still a youngster and has plenty of scope to improve.

Twitter reacts to the news

Meanwhile, Twitter was brim with reactions about RCB’s choices. Naturally, the massive fanbase of the franchise did not receive the news well. One section, though, opined that the choices were good but the prices that are allocated will hinder signing other targets. We take a look at a few reactions below:
