“The King is back in full flow” – Twitter reacts as Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis guide RCB to a dominant win against MI at the Chinnaswami stadium

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has greeted the return of Indian Premier League cricket with a resounding victory. RCB bowled really well as a team, taking early wickets and then holding on with the spinners throughout the powerplay. Then came the cleanest pursuit ever.

Faf du Plessis is taking his SA20 form to the IPL, and no one is talking about how quickly he’s ageing like Benjamin Button. He was unable to remain until the very finish, but he left RCB in an unbeatable position.

Indeed, there was also Virat Kohli. As expected from a showman, he put on quite the performance tonight in his new backyard. Kohli’s back to playing with a grin on his face, gaining early ground with his ability to judge lengths, and defining class with some of those sixes.

While RCB lost a few wickets late, he remained till the end to help push the franchise over the finish line with nearly four overs to spare. The Mumbai Indians are still dealing with identical issues. Jofra Archer had a lacklustre comeback in the IPL, while the rest of their bowlers were ineffective.
