Team India to make a few changes for the England series – Reports

It was a sad end to Team India’s WTC campaign for 2019-2021. The Indian side eventually lost the final against the New Zealand side by eight wickets. It was an average show from Team India as they couldn’t match the performance of the Kiwis.

After losing the toss, the Indian side came out to bat in the first innings. They posted a total of 217 runs on the board after the first day was washed out due to rain. The Kiwi batsmen came out blazing all guns as they scored 249 runs. The game’s turning point occurred during the 2nd innings as India just managed to put 170 runs on the board.

With 140 runs to chase in 2nd innings, Williamson and his army easily won the game at the loss of just two wickets. India decided to go with two spinners which might have costed the game. Especially in the swinging conditions, an additional pacer would have made the game a little more interesting.

Following the loss, Indian management has decided to make some changes for the England series. According to the Times of India, three changes might be visible for the five-match Test series against England.

Team India might give a chance to new players in the test format for England series.

We might witness the entry of KL Rahul or Hanuma Vihari in the middle order. This might lead to Pujara being dropped from the side. Apart from this, the bowling department might also feature the likes of Mohammed Siraj. He can swing the ball and can quickly adapt to the conditions.

Apart from this, the entry of Shardul Thakur as an all-rounder can also be seen in upcoming tests. These changes seem logical based on the swinging green turfs in England. It would be exciting to see if Team India makes these changes.
