“I can hit a 130 meter six in this IPL,” Delhi Capitals power hitter Rovman Powell sets a hitting target for himself

Rovman Powell scored a match winning half century for Delhi Capitals against SRH last night

The West Indies batsman Rovman Powell is very confident about the fact that he can hit the longest six in the ongoing IPL season. Currently, the record of hitting the longest six in IPL 2022 is held by Liam Livingstone who hit a 117 m six against Gujarat Titans off the bowling of Mohammed Shami the other day.

But, Rovman Powell thinks that going ahead in the tournament, he can not only level the distance achieved by Livingstone, but he can also actually surpass it as well.

Powell has promoted up the order to bat at no. 5 for Delhi Capitals in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad yesterday and he repaid the faith shown by the team management by scoring a rapid half-century.

Rovman Powell revealed DC skipper Rishabh Pant had come to his room before the game against SRH

Powell later revealed after the game that the Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant had come to his room before the game and asked him where he would like to bat and he had asked him to allow him an opportunity to bat at no. 5 because he has improved his game against spin and if he gets an opportunity to get his eye in, first few balls, he can then make it big for the team.

Delhi Capitals had been using Powell slightly down the order this season as they were of the view that he is a very good hitter of fast bowling, but he isn’t that good against spin and it’s better to use him down the order. But, Powell thinks his game against spin is in a far better place now than it was previously.

Rovman Powell, while speaking on the official website of IPL after the game, also revealed that he has told his Delhi Capitals teammate Mandeep Singh that he can not only cross 117 m six of Liam Livingstone this season, he is aiming to hit a 130 m six.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
