India might have been outplayed in their first game in this T20 World Cup 2021, but the former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne is still backing them and believes India will be one of the four teams to qualify to the semi finals of the World Cup.
Shane Warne reckons India and Pakistan will be the two teams making it to the semi finals from group 2, while England and Australia will get there from group 1 and it’s likely that India take on England and Pakistan take on Australia in their respective semi final games.
So, the final of the T20 World Cup 2021 might either be between the arch rivals India and Pakistan or it might be between England and Australia.
England and Pakistan have been very dominant in T20 World Cup 2021 so far
The India Vs Pakistan rivalry and the Australia Vs England one, the two most bitter rivalries in the history of the game, have been very one sided in this tournament so far. While Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets in the first game of their campaign, England handed a thumping to Australia as well, last night in Dubai.
But, neither of India and Australia is out of contention yet. Given the quality the two teams have in the squad at the moment, it’s still very much possible that these two teams end up qualifying to the semi final of the T20 World Cup 2021, as Shane Warne has predicted.

Apart from Warne though, some of the other experts reckon that it’s Pakistan and England who will qualify to the final as these two have been the most in-form teams in the tournament. However, neither England nor Pakistan has batted first in the tournament yet.
Batting first has proven to be the biggest challenge for the teams in the T20 World Cup 2021 so far as the pitch does a little bit early on and then gets easier for batting as the dew settles in.
