The eighth edition of the Pakistan Cricket League (PSL) kickstarted on Monday (13th February). A total of 36 players, both overseas and locals were picked in the draft this year. Like the first game, it is expected that other games too will be mouth-watering. The final of the tournament will take place on 19th March.

The tournament started with a blockbuster clash between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. It was a nail-biter that went down the wire and saw the Lahore side winning the game by just 1 run.

The first game not only saw a staggering encounter between bat and ball. But it was also marred by an incident that hogged the headlines. Ahead of the game, during the fag end of the opening ceremony, flood lights in the stadium caught fire due to the fireworks and the game was delayed by 30 minutes.
