The cricket fraternity must sincerely thank the legends who chipped in with impactful and vital contribution to the sport. It is due to the fact that cricket is now one of the most popular sports in the world.

Case in point, legendary names include the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara are two of the greatest cricketers of all time. The duo are often compared to each other in terms of their remarkable achievements and surreal impact on the sport.

Both the legends are known for their impressive contribution to their respective teams. While India largely benefitted from the services of Sachin Tendulkar, West Indies also largely benefitted from the services of Brian Lara.

Sachin Tendulkar is widely acknowledged as one of the best batters in cricket history, with a stellar cricketing career spanning over two decades. He holds many records in international cricket, including the most runs essayed in both Tests and ODIs and the most centuries scored in international cricket.

On the other hand, Brian Lara is another legendary cricketer who is also recognized as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He holds the record for scoring 400 not out against England in 2004, a record individual score that still remains intact.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar turned 50 on April 24 (Monday). His fans, followers, friends, well-wishers, former cricketers, current cricketers took to their social media handles to wish the Master Blaster on his birthday.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) surprised Sachin Tendulkar with a classy gesture. Sachin Tendulkar, along with former West Indies skipper Brian Lara, joined Donald Bradman, in having a set of gates named in their honour at the iconic SCG.

“The Sydney Cricket Ground has been my favourite ground away from India. I have had some great memories at the SCG right from my first tour of Australia in 1991-92,” said Tendulkar, who played five Tests there, averaging 157. “The ground holds many special memories for me and my family and I always enjoy visiting whenever I’m in Australia,” said Brian Lara
