MS Dhoni then elaborated that he wears the number seven jersey because he was born on July 7, 1981. July is the seventh month of the year. The date in July was seven. Also, if you subtract 8 -1 from the year 1981, you get the number 7. Thus, Dhoni wears that number behind his back.

“I was born on the 7th of July. So, it’s the 7th day of the 7th month, that was the reason,” he added.

Dhoni further mentioned that he is not so superstitious but the number seven has always been close to his heart.
