On Thursday, BCCI announced the schedule for the upcoming home series. The home season will begin in January 2023. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as India set to play 4 Test and 9 ODIs during the home season from 2023.

India set to play 4 Test and 9 ODIs in home season

It will be a packed schedule for India in the first three months of 2023. Against both Sri Lanka and New Zealand, India will be involved in 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is each. India will then host four important Tests against Australia before concluding the assignment against the Aussies with 3 ODIs. The players will then prepare and compete in IPL 2023.

It is interesting that India will take part in the T20 format despite 2023 being the year of the ODI World Cup. There will also be two months of IPL auction before June. It needs to be seen how the management will manage the squad for this. When it comes to Tests, the four games against Australia will decide a lot of things for the men in blue. India has to win this series to set right that slump that the team is going through at the moment. Rahul Dravid and co. will also have to utilize the nine ODIs to freeze the core combination. After June, the squad will only have to prepare for the tournament rather than further experiments.

Twitter reacts to the announcement

Meanwhile, Indian fans have been disappointed in recent months and hence, there were plenty of reactions on Twitter. While the Indians lost in the 2022 T20 World Cup, the ODI series defeat to Bangladesh

is extremely embarrassing for the squad. Of course, the inclusion of T20Is did not please many and also the reduction in the size of the ODI series also met with criticism. We take a look at some of the reactions below:
