The Australian cricket team were the first to qualify for the ICC World Test Championship final by beating India in the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series.
On the other hand, the Indian cricket team defeated the Australian cricket team in the BGT series by 2-1. On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s loss to New Zealand in the first Test ensured an automatic qualification for India into the WTC Final.
Sri Lanka’s defeat also meant the end of the road for WTC final qualification. The ICC World Test Championship final between Team India and Australia will go all guns blazing from June 7 to June 11 at The Oval, with June 12 set as the reserve day.
It is going to be a spectacular battle between these two heavyweights. The Kennington Oval is a batting-friendly wicket and hence we can expect batters to express themselves in full flow as the game progresses.
KL Rahul will be my wicketkeeper in the WTC Final: Harbhajan Singh
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-man squad for the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia today.
Rohit Sharma will be leading the pack from the front whereas Ajinkya Rahane’s entry into the squad surprised the fans of the cricket fraternity. However, the board decided to stick to KS Bharat as the wicketkeeper for the WTC final, although KL Rahul is there in the squad.
Meanwhile, former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh wanted KL Rahul to keep the wickets for the ICC WTC final. While speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh added that KL Rahul will be his wicketkeeper in the WTC final against Australia.
Some feel that the team management picked KS Bharat as wicketkeeper because they want KL Rahul to play as a pure batsman in the ICC WTC Final.
