3 Indian batters who played more than 50 IPL games but didn’t win the Man of the Match award

Usually, Indian batters are not backed so much in IPL. With so much talent flowing through, if a batter does not deliver an eye-catching performance, it is easy for him to get lost in the flow. In fact, we have seen some batters score a century and yet not do well in the coming seasons. Despite all of this, some batters survived for more than 50 encounters without winning an IPL Man of the Match Award. It could be a different situation for different players. On that note, here, we take a look at three Indian batters who played more than 50 IPL games but didn’t win the Man of the Match award.

1) Mithun Manhas

A stalwart in domestic cricket, Mithun Manhas was used by teams such as Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors India in the initial seasons. Once, he was also a part of CSK.

Mithun mostly played in the middle order. While he did do well in some games, he could not deliver a popular knock. Hence, he could never win this award.

2) Sarfaraz Khan*

His IPL started on a great note. Sarfaraz showed promise at Punjab Kings. However, at Delhi Capitals, his IPL career came down and he went unsold recently.

Nevertheless, considering his age and the fact that he is high on confidence after his India debut, he could still make a strong comeback in the IPL in the future seasons.

3) Venugopala Rao

Venugopala Rao is one of the Indian batters who played more than 50 IPL games but didn’t win the Man of the Match award. An IPL winner in 2009 with Deccan Chargers, Venugopala Rao also played for teams such as Delhi Daredevils.
