2 England players who might be playing their last Ashes Test series in 2023

Probably the toughest assignment for England will be the upcoming Ashes. Ever since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum took over the reins, the team has been unstoppable. However, against Australia, they will have their task cut out. At the same time, the team might have to prepare for a short transition after this Ashes or might b even during the tournament. On that note, here, we take a look at two England players who might be playing their last Ashes Test series in 2023.

1) James Anderson

Many predicted the previous Ashes to be the last for James Anderson. However, the veteran kicked on to compete in a few more tournaments and he is now all set to play in the upcoming Ashes, as well. That said, Ashes 2023 could be his last when it comes to the famous rivalry.

Anderson is 40 years old and at this age, things could start getting difficult. England, anyways, has a breed of young pacers who need chances to showcase their skills. Even for the next Ashes, some new faces will be needed and they will require time to hone their skills. Hence, the legend features on this list.

2) Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad is one of the England players who might be playing their last Ashes Test series in 2023. Broad is 36 years old but he has issues with fitness and sometimes form, too. In this regard, it would be difficult to expect Broad to play some time at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

Broad himself misses a lot of games to manage his workload. Going forward, England may not be able to afford this. Moreover, Jofra Archer is all set to make a comeback to the red-ball squad and this means that one of the existing pacers will have to lose their chances. Therefore, Broad might be playing his last Ashes in 2023.
