Indian fast-bowler, Ishant Sharma became only the second fast bowler after Kapil Dev to play 100 Tests for India, on Wednesday. He reached the feat after being included in India’s playing XI for the ongoing third Test against England. He is now the overall fourth Indian bowler and the second pacer to reach the landmark.

To mark the special occasion, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Home Minister Amit Shah felicitated Ishant Sharma at the inauguration of the Narendra Modi Stadium before the start of the third Test.

Ishant Sharma made a fine start to his hundredth Test as he picked England’s first wicket in only his second over of the match. He, though, bowled just 5 overs in the innings, taking a solitary wicket for 26 runs.
