India’s Warm-up Fixtures Announced Ahead Of T20 World Cup 2021

Ahead of every ICC event, the International Cricket Council organizes warm-up matches for the participating countries. The same trend has continued in the 2021 year as well, as every team will be playing the warm-up matches for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The competition will get underway on October 17, two days after the IPL 2021 Final.

The Qualifying Stage precedes the Super 12 stage. The Super 12 stage comprises all the top teams, including the Indian cricket team. So, the warm-up fixtures of the Indian cricket team are all set to happen during the Qualifying Stage of ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

Whom will the Indian cricket team face?

The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 warm-up matches feature the Indian cricket team twice. As has been the trend, the Men in Blue will play matches against teams of the opposite group. In this case, four teams in opposite group of India in the Super 12 stage are South Africa, West Indies, England and Australia.

According to a report in ANI, the Indian cricket team will be playing the warm-up matches against the England cricket team and the Australian cricket team. It is pertinent to note that the Indian cricket team won a T20I series each against the England cricket team and the Australian cricket team on the road to the T20 World Cup. The Indian cricket team defeated the England cricket team by 3-2 at home, while they had defeated the Australian cricket team by 2-1 in an away series.

When and where to watch India’s T20 World Cup warm-up matches?

Industry sources confirmed to ANI that the two matches of the Indian cricket team which will take place in the warm-up round will be telecasted live on the Star Sports network. The match against the England cricket team is scheduled to take place on October 18 just three days after IPL 2021 ends. The match against the Australian cricket team is scheduled for October 20.

“Yes, India will lock horns against England and Australia in warm-up games and they will be telecast on Star,” a source informed ANI today. It will be interesting to see how the Indian cricket team performs in the warm-up matches of the T20 World Cup 2021.
