One change Lucknow Super Giants might make for their next game against CSK

Lucknow Super Giants had to endure a close five-wicket defeat in their first-ever IPL game to fellow new entrants Gujarat Titans. While KL Rahul‘s men were decent with the ball, it was their batting show that let them down. LSG would want to change that for the upcoming encounter against Chennai Super Kings on 31st March at the Brabourne Stadium. In this article, we take a look at one change Lucknow Super Giants might make for their next game against CSK.

LSG missing the services of their key foreigners

While Mark Wood was ruled out before IPL 2022 started, Jason Holder and Marcus Stoinis are missing the first few games for the franchise. The team was constructed in such a way that Stoinis and Holder would play an important role in the XI. Now that these two players did not play in the first game, LSG felt their absence dearly.

At one point, LSG was 29-4 within the powerplay. Although Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda did bail them out, the presence of Stoinis or Holder would have made the job easier. With the ball, the experience of Holder could have helped the franchise at the death. Both these cricketers will arrive soon in the team. but will not be available against CSK. This will surely hand a boost to the franchise.

Andrew Tye for Mohsin Khan – One change Lucknow Super Giants might make for their next game against CSK

Despite the failure in the batting department, LSG might not make a change with their batters. It was a one-off disappointment and the likes of Evin Lewis and Manish Pandey will be backed to come good. LSG anyways does not have established batters who can slot into the XI.

Therefore, with Andrew Tye likely to be available for the game, he might come in for Mohsin Khan. The Uttar Pradesh player bowled two overs and gave away 18 runs without a wicket. It is a learning experience for him but he will have to give way to the experienced Aussie. Tye bowled well in the recent Big Bash League. With him in the squad, LSG will have more insurance at the death and a reliable option in the middle overs.
