The second phase of IPL 2021 is all set to kickstart from September 2021 from the moment where it got paused. The availability of foreign players has also been confirmed now as mostly all the stars will be present. UAE will act as the host for the event.
A few days back, there were rumors regarding a South African cricketer playing in this IPL for the last time. The rumored tweet was, “One of the greatest batsmen cricketing world had the pleasure to watch in the last two decades will pad up one last time in the remainder of IPL to be held in UAE.”
Following this, the fans started assuming this cricketer to be AB de Villiers. Even though there wasn’t any confirmation about the same, fans thought ABD would be padding up for one last time this season. However, this rumor has ended now as the man himself has opened about it.
“Hopefully there are few more years,” says AB de Villiers
During an Instagram live session, AB hinted that there are many years yet to come for him. He stated that” “Playing in the IPL, having broken one record or two, playing in front of the crowd, and realizing that my teammates are also in awe. At the IPL, for South Africa, it exceeded all expectations, and hopefully, there are few more years.”
The partnership of ABD and Virat at RCB has been winning hearts for the last many years. Though the side has never won the trophy so far, the cheer from the fans for these 2 stars have never downgraded.
RCB is currently standing at 3rd position on the points table. The bold army has secured five wins in 7 games and is in a solid position this year. It would be exciting to see whether the side manages to continue their winning form in phase 2 of IPL 2021 or not.
