6 Players who wore Jersey No. 18 in International Cricket

Over the years, with the increasing popularity of sports, jersey numbers have also gained importance. In sports like football and cricket, jerseys numbered 10 and 7 have become iconic due to the stature of players who have worn the number. Players choose their jersey number on their own, and many select their numbers because of some special reason. Today we will take a look at 6 popular players who have worn Jersey No.18 in international cricket.

Adam Gilchrist is a former wicket-keeper batsman and a former captain of Australia’s cricket team. He is widely considered as one of Australia’s best wicket-keeper batsmen of all time. Gilchrist has worn jersey no. 18 in his international as well as IPL career. He was a mainstay for Australia and played 287 ODIs.

Ali is as good a bowler as he is a batsman. He is now a regular in England’s cricket team. Ali can mould himself into any role. He is equally effective as an opener, or as a finisher. So this makes him a sure-fire pick in all formats of the game. Ali wears jersey no. 18 in all formats of the game.

#4. Faf du Plessis (RSA)

Faf du Plessis is a veteran South African batsman and part-time spinner. He is a former captain of the international team. In February of 2021, he announced his retirement from Test cricket to focus on limited-overs cricket. He wears jersey no. 18 and chose this number for a special reason.
