Who Is Giovanni Vinci? All You Need To Know About The 3rd Member Of WWE Faction Imperium

WWE Clash at the Castle is officially in the books and proved to be an extravagant experience for the WWE Universe in Cardiff, and millions watching all over the world. Giovanni Vinci appeared on the show as well.

The event delivered in terms of the quality of the match card, in-ring performances, and a shocking end that left the WWE fans in anguish with the defeat of their fallen Warrior and home crowd fan favorite Drew McIntyre at the hands of Roman Reigns who retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship thanks to the timely arrival of Solo Sikoa, the newest member of the Bloodline making his first ever main roster appearance.

Talking about debuts, there was one more Superstar who made their first ever appearance following the suit of Solo Sikoa as the main roster Superstar, Giovanni Vinci (formerly known as Fabian Archer back in NXT) joining his former stable mates, Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther to reform their old faction ‘The Imperium.’

It wasn’t long ago that Vinci left the stable just before both of his teammates were called up to the main roster in April earlier this year. He made his debut at the Cruiserweight Classic in 2016 under his old ring name and went to form a tag team with Marcel Barthel, competing in both NXT and NXT UK and winning the NXT Tag Team Championships on two separate occasions.

During the same time, they aligned themselves with Walter and Alexander Wolfe to form the Imperium faction. He was later repackaged as Giovanni Vinci in 2022 debuting against Guru Raaj and unsuccessfully challenging Carmelo Hayes for the NXT North American Championship.

Giovanni Vinci will be a mainstay on WWE SmackDown now

Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser accompanied the Ring General Gunther to the ring for his highly power-packed match against the Irish hard hitter Sheamus in a clash of the titans for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle.

The two brawled with Butch and Ridge Holland accompanying Sheamus at ringside, leading to being sent back by the WWE official and leaving Gunther and Sheamus to fight it out one on one.

Gunther and Sheamus went to have one of the greatest WWE matches mirroring the iconic match between Bret Hart and The British Bulldog for the Intercontinental title, the last time the workhorse title was defended in a major stadium show in the United Kingdom. The match ending saw Gunther putting away the Irishman with a lariat to secure the pinfall and celebrate with Vinci and Kaisar who came back to the ring for their leader’s victory, while the crowd gave a standing ovation to Sheamus for his hard-hitting performance.

This match ended up getting awarded a 5-star rating by Wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer becoming the second WWE match of 2022 to earn the prestigious rating after Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in a Cell.
