The ICC rankings are one of the best ways to ascertain which are the top cricketers in the world right now. Although there have been some questions raised by fans after seeing the players ranked lower or higher than expected on the ICC charts, one cannot deny the fact that the rating points highlight the recent form and the performance impact of the players.
When one looks at the ICC Rankings now, they will find that the captain of the England Test cricket team Joe Root holds the number one position on the ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen. The ranking says that Root is the best Test batsman at the moment, considering h is form in the Tests of late.
Root has 903 rating points to his name. He is in excellent form right now, which is the reason he has so many points. If a batsman can attain 800+ rating points, it means he is a great player.
