Mitchell Marsh Suffers Hip Injury In Pakistan Before Joining Delhi Capitals For IPL 2022

In a disappointing development ahead of IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has picked up a hip flexor injury. The all-rounder will likely miss the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the Pakistan cricket team.

The Australian cricket team recently won an ICC World Test Championship series against the Pakistan cricket team. Now, the two nations will play four more matches, three ODIs in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League and a one-off T20I match.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the Pakistan cricket team, Australian ODI cricket team captain Aaron Finch said:

“He’s (Marsh) injured his hip flexor, we think, at training. He sustained that in a fielding drill, it was a high intensity, lateral movement drill, and he bent down to pick it up one-handed and went to throw and felt a twinge.”

Finch further mentioned that looking at how Mitchell Marsh felt yesterday, he was not sure if the all-rounder would be available for the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the Pakistan cricket team.

Delhi Capitals signed Mitchell Marsh for INR 6.5 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Marsh was one of the best performers for the Australian cricket team last year in white-ball cricket. He impressed the fans with his batting performances in the shortest format of the game and then played a vital role in the Australian cricket team’s historic ICC T20 World Cup triumph.

Courtesy of his excellent performances, Marsh earned a deal worth INR 6.5 crore from the Delhi Capitals at the IPL Mega Auction 2022. While DC have already begun their IPL campaign, Marsh will join them after April 6 because he is on national duty now. It will be interesting to see if Marsh recovers in time for the season.
