WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Match Card: What Is An Extreme Rules match?

WWE is moving full steam ahead towards their next pay-per-view for the next month titled WWE Extreme Rules taking place in the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 8. This will be the first edition of this pay-per-view to be held in the month of October and also the first to take place on a Saturday instead of the old traditional Sunday previously followed by the WWE.

The road to Extreme Rules is shaping up in the weeks leading up to the event, with its first match made official pitting Liv Morgan against Ronda Rousey for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. The rivalry has been brewing for months with Liv picking two lackluster wins over The Baddest woman on the planet and looking to put down the MMA Hall of Famer for good. This week on Smackdown saw the feud escalate with the match now taking place under Extreme Rules stipulation.

This will surely prove to be a physically tormenting and gruesome match between the two combatants, now with the playfield having no rules and anything goes until a clear and decisive winner is declared. With the one night of the year where WWE goes Extreme, it’s time to bring down what exactly is an Extreme Rules match in the WWE:
