Australian cricket team’s left-handed batter Travis Head wants to achieve success in overseas Test matches just like his teammate Steve Smith. Head came into the spotlight while playing for Australia in the recently-concluded ICC World Test Championship series against the England cricket team.
The left-handed batter scored big for his team and ensured that the Australian cricket team won the series by 4-0. Head will now play an away Test series against the Pakistan cricket team, starting on March 4.
The ICC World Test Championship series between the Australian cricket team and the Pakistan cricket team comprises three matches, allowing Head enough time to settle in the Asian conditions and score big.
Head has never scored a ton outside Australia in Test cricket, and here’s what he had to say during an interaction with reporters on Thursday:
“I think what defines you as a player, the away series. You look at Smithy’s record in India, when he goes away to India and plays on those wickets it takes him to a different level.”
Travis Head and Steve Smith will hold the key to Australia’s success on their tour of Pakistan
The Australian cricket team will play a 3-match ICC World Test Championship series against Pakistan soon, and many fans feel that this series is likely to decide which team will move a step closer to the ICC World Test Championship 2023 Final.
Defending champions New Zealand have gotten off to a slow start, while England are almost out of the race. India, Pakistan, Australia and South Africa seem the top four contenders in the race to the ICC World Test Championship Final.
Hence, the Australia vs Pakistan series holds an important place, and the duo of Travis Head and Steve Smith will be keen to ensure that the Aussies maintain their unbeaten record in the tournament.
