“Krunal Pandya Is Like My Brother”- Deepak Hooda Clarifies There Is No Rift Between Them Now

Last year, a massive controversy emerged from Indian domestic cricket as reports claimed that there was a fight between Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda in the Baroda team. Soon after, Hooda lodged a complaint against Krunal. He mentioned that Krunal abused him, but eventually, Baroda Cricket Association suspended Hooda.

The all-rounder left Baroda and joined Rajasthan in domestic cricket. After some impressive performances, he made it to the Indian team. Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya played for Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians respectively in the last two seasons, but this year, they are teammates in Lucknow Super Giants squad.

Fans were surprised to see them celebrating together in IPL 2022 as they even hugged after the fall of a wicket against the Gujarat Titans. However, in an interview with Dainik Jagran, Hooda clarified that he does not have a rift with Krunal now.

“Krunal Pandya is like my brother, and brothers do fight. We are playing with one aim, which is to win games for LSG. Whatever happened is in the past, and as I said, we both are playing for the same team and our goals, too, are the same,” said Deepak Hooda.

Deepak Hooda did not know that he is in the same IPL team as Krunal Pandya

During the same interview, Hooda was asked about his first reaction to joining the Lucknow Super Giants and reunion with Krunal Pandya. Hooda honestly said that he had no idea about that because he did not watch the auction. Like other team members, he met with Krunal at the team hotel.

“I was not watching the IPL auction. We met just like the other players at the team hotel,” he added.

Hooda and Pandya will be in action later tonight when the Lucknow Super Giants clash with the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022.
