“It Wasn’t Asking Questions For The Sake Of Asking”- Kumar Sangakkara Reveals How Daryl Mitchell Made Full Use Of Bio-bubble In IPL And Improved

The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League concluded last month in Ahmedabad, with the Gujarat Titans defeating the Rajasthan Royals to win the IPL championship for the first time. Daryl Mitchell was a part of the Rajasthan Royals team in IPL 2022, but he was unavailable for the final match owing to national duty.

Kumar Sangakkara was the Head of Cricket Operations at the Rajasthan Royals this season. The former Sri Lankan cricket team captain heaped praise on the New Zealand cricket team’s all-rounder for his desire to improve himself.

All players were in the bio-bubble for 2 months during the long IPL season. Daryl Mitchell did not get enough game time during the season, so it might have been frustrating for him, but the all-rounder decided to grab the golden chance to pick up notes from Sangakkara and improve his game.

“He carried his iPad to every team meeting, took notes, and asked questions. It wasn’t asking questions for the sake of asking questions, he was heavily involved. The way he carried himself, in a bio-bubble for over two months, the hard work he put in at the nets despite playing two matches, it was top-class,” Sangakkara told Sky Sports during the coverage of the ICC World Test Championship series between England cricket team and New Zealand cricket team.

Daryl Mitchell has scored heaps of runs against England cricket team

Daryl Mitchell has had a fruitful tour of England thus far. He seems to have cemented his place in the New Zealand cricket team with his consistent show in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship series.

In the ongoing third ICC World Test Championship match of the series, Mitchell is unbeaten on 78 runs off 159 balls at Day 1. He will be keen to complete a ton and place the Blackcaps in a decent position.
